The Emergency Department at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center is dedicated to providing comprehensive, state-of-the-art emergency care to adults and children. Our professional staff provides this care to patients with a wide-range of emergency medical problems - adult medical, pediatric, traumatic, and psychiatric conditions - 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Emergency Department at SCVMC is the busiest in Santa Clara County, treating 250 patients a day or 90,000 patients every year. The department consists of physicians with specialized training in emergency medicine, emergency medical resident, physician assistants, and over 90 nurses. Department staff also educates residents from other specialties and medical students from a number of medical schools, including Stanford.
