Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition Therapy - Outpatient

The Ambulatory Nutrition Services Department provides Nutrition therapy and Nutrition counseling by Registered Dietitian Nutritionists for outpatients in a clinic setting. Our goal is to promote healthy eating, prevent disease and help with chronic disease management – to contribute to the health and wellness of our diverse community.

We collaborate and partner with multiple departments such as Public Health and Ambulatory Health Education Department to cultivate a healthier community. Additionally, we offer continuation of care to patients after they are discharged from the hospital.

Individual appointment times and one-on-one classes are currently being offered. Group classes are on hold due to COVID-19 until further notice

Most outpatient nutrition services are FREE OF CHARGE and INSURANCE is NOT REQUIRED. Some exceptions apply.

Specialty nutrition services require a referral from your doctor. Currently, we accept nutrition referrals from SCVMC providers only. Providers, please click here to view referral process.

Nutrition appointments at certain primary care sites (such as Milpitas, Gilroy, Sunnyvale, and East Valley) do not require a referral.
