Mark Metzler, a member of SCVMC’s Biomedical Engineering Department, was recognized for his contributions to the Bay Area Biomedical Engineering industry. His award was presented at the California Medical Instrumentation Association  - Bay Area Chapter meeting on Wednesday, October 12, 2016.
“Mark was nominated by leadership at DeVry University for his leadership and commitment to mentoring more than 25 students who later graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in biomedical electronics,” commented David Wirick, SCVMC Biomedical Department Manager. “Mark has made SCVMC one of the most sought after internship opportunities among DeVry students. This is largely due to his commitment to providing valuable ‘hands on’ experience with Biomedical professionals.”
Mark also founded an effort to ease the suffering of the unsheltered in Silicon Valley. His community based project is called, "Sleeping Bays for the Homeless of Silicon Valley".   With Mark's encouragement, many of the Biomedical professionals at SCVMC have become involved in the effort.
Congratulations and thanks to Mark for making such a significant and positive impact on the lives of people in our community!
