Education Opportunities
The NICU serves as a center for teaching in the community. The NICU provides NRP and STABLE courses for Nurses and Physicians. Medical students from Stanford University Medical School and fellows from their pediatric hospitalist program come to the NICU as part of their training. They care for infants and their families in the NICU and attend newborn deliveries. The NICU is also host to trainees from Nursing schools, Respiratory therapy and an occasional Neonatal Nurse Practitioner trainee.
