SCVMC occupational therapists Dinna Gonzales, Tracy Lau, Mary Simonson, Kathy Kobayashi, Lindsey Raney and Deb Steele have received specialized training in the use of Armeo® Power and Armeo® Spring, which are upper extremity robotic exoskeleton devices that work in combination with virtual reality.

These robotic exoskeletons are used by occupational therapists to assist patients with regaining upper extremity function resulting from neurologic disorders or injuries.

This team has been instrumental in developing and launching our program for the Armeo® Power and Armeo® Spring.

Patients recovering from strokes, traumatic brain injuries and neurological disorders at The Rehabilitation Center at SCVMC have already seen functional gains as a result of using the new exoskeletons and the team looks forward to assisting future patients for years to come.
