Urgent Care, Primary Care & Other Services Return to Downtown San Jose

Santa Clara County, CA – The opening of Valley Health Center Downtown marks the return of a wide range of healthcare services to the downtown San Jose community. The new health center provides urgent care and other services that had been lost with the closure of San Jose Medical Center in 2004.

Valley Health Center Downtown opened Monday, June 13, 2016. The Urgent Care clinic opened first, and is open seven days a week from 8 am to 10 pm. Residents can come to Urgent Care when illness or minor injuries happen outside of regular office hours or they cannot immediately visit their primary care physician. Other services are also open – laboratory, pharmacy and radiology - making it easier for patients to get needed tests and prescriptions. Over the summer months more services will be opening. Our excellent medical staff will provide primary care services for women, children and families.

“We have a long standing commitment of providing needed healthcare services to Santa Clara County,” commented Dr. Paul Russell. “We are thrilled that our new building has opened, and by offering urgent care and other services, we have extended our commitment of quality care to the downtown community.”

The new building is 60,000 square feet with 300 parking spaces. It has applied for a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Rating. LEED certified buildings are resource efficient, use less water and energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. An added bonus, LEED certified buildings save money.

Valley Health Center Downtown is committed to the health and well-being of our patients and our community. To learn more, visit www.vhcdowntown.org
