OVERVIEW

The Nephrology Division at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) provides a broad range of inpatient, outpatient, and educational services.

Inpatient activities include consultation, peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis, and plasma exchange. The inpatient team includes the nephrology attending, fellow and resident. A nephrology social worker and registered dietitian also provide crucial support as well.

Outpatient activities are centralized in the Renal Care Center (RCC), which is located on the SCVMC campus at 2220 Moorpark Avenue.

The RCC houses the outpatient hemodialysis unit and the Renal Clinic. The dialysis unit at the RCC provides outpatient services to hemodialysis patients and peritoneal dialysis patients.

The peritoneal dialysis clinic is located on the fifth floor of the Valley Specialty Center (VSC), which is adjacent to the RCC.

A chronic team consisting of a fellow and attending physician regularly round in the dialysis unit as well as provide urgent outpatient nephrologic consultation.

The Renal Clinic provides service for patients with chronic kidney disease, pre-ESRD and ESRD patients.
