OUR SERVICES

The Trauma Center at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center has been providing high quality trauma care for over 30 years. The Trauma Center is available 24/7 for the care of injured patients. SCVMC has served county residents since 1876.

ADULT SERVICES

Santa Clara Valley Medical Center has 16 Surgical Intensive Care beds, other adult care units and step down units to care for patients in a patient centered, multidisciplinary care environment. As an American College of Surgeons (ACS) verified center, SCVMC offers patients outstanding board certified specialty services, including but not limited to:

  • General Acute Care Surgery

PEDIATRIC SERVICES

Santa Clara Valley Medical Center has a 12-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and 40-bed Pediatric Unit to care for patients in a family centered care environment. As a California Children's Services​ (CCS) verified provider, SCVMC offers patients outstanding board certified pediatric specialty services, including but not limited to:

  • Pediatric General Surgery
  • Pediatric Anesthesiology
  • Pediatric Intensive Care Specialists
  • Neurosurgery
  • Orthopedics

The American College of Surgeons has certified the Trauma Center at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center as a Level One Trauma Center. This is highest level of certification possible. The American College of Surgeons (ACS) is dedicated to improving the care of surgical patients and safeguarding standards of care in optimal and ethical practice environments. The ACS verifies that a Trauma Center has the resources needed for the optimal care of injured patients, and only those Trauma Centers that have successfully completed an on-site visit are verified by the organization. The Trauma Center at SCVMC is the only Level One center in the City of San Jose.
