Pharmacist
The Pharmacy Department at SCVMC is an integral component in the patient care team. Supported by advanced information and dispensing technologies, the pharmacy provides a safe, effective, and efficient clinical resource for providers and patients. The Department is comprised of inpatient services, community based clinic pharmacies, a public health pharmacy, acute and outpatient mental health pharmacies, and criminal justice pharmacies. The Pharmacy Department has over 200 Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and support staff. A faculty member of the University of the Pacific (UOP) School of Pharmacy serves as a clerkship and pharmacy practice residency coordinator for approximately 15 senior students each year.
Pharmacy professionals at SCVMC enhance their skills and education by working with the diverse and challenging cases associated with a major teaching hospital. The Pharmacy Department also encourages professional growth and development through a generous tuition reimbursement program.

Our Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians work closely with Physicians, Nurses, Therapists— and our patients—to optimize medication outcomes. As an SCVMC pharmacy professional You will have the opportunity to be part of an extensive pharmaceutical care system that includes the following clinical programs and areas: adult and pediatric critical care; pain management; oncology/hematology; emergency medicine; infectious diseases; ambulatory care anticoagulation services; nutrition support; patient education; staff education; and clinical pathway/protocol development.
